Konkuk University (KU) provides several facilities exclusively to students, faculty, and staff for their sports and fitness needs.
Within 5-15 minutes from the KU campus, there are many parks as well as sports and fitness facilities, including the Children’s Grand Park, Ttukseom Park, and Gwangjin Culture & Art Center. Admission is free for public parks.
The Children’s Grand Park is five minutes away by foot from the Konkuk Gate. There are tracks for running and outdoor exercise equipment across the park. There is also a zoo.
Among the 12 parks along the Han River, Ttukseom Hangang Park is the closest one to KU. Approximately 15 minutes away by foot from the campus, the park has soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and badminton courts. You can also enjoy fishing, bicycling, and water sports in designated areas. Online reservations may be required to use certain facilities and equipment.
The Gwangjin Culture & Art Center is a local community center with a gym and swimming pool. The center is located right beside The Classic 500, Konkuk’s premium hotel and retirement home. Membership fees at the center are generally lower than private gyms.
