Undergraduate International Students

Welcome to the undergraduate admissions section of Konkuk University’s website. Each year, foreign students from around the world come to the university to pursue their undergraduate degree. In 2017, a total of 380 students from 10 countries, including China, Japan, and Malaysia, enrolled at Konkuk to study business administration, media communication, film animation, and apparel design, among others. Here, prospective students can find all necessary information on applying to the university.

  • Application Requirements
    Nationality and Academic Requirements
    • Freshman Applicants
      All applicants must meet both of the following:
      • Applicants have graduated or are expected to graduate from accredited primary and secondary schools overseas
      • Applicants and their parents are foreign nationals without Korean citizenship.
    • Transfer Applicants
      In addition, transfer applicants must meet one or more of the following requirements:
      • Applicants have completed or are expected to complete at least 2 years of a 4-year undergraduate degree program with at least 50 percent of the credits required for graduation at an accredited Korean or foreign university with good academic standing
      • Applicants have graduated or are expected to graduate from a 2- or 3-year associate degree program at an accredited Korean or foreign college with good academic standing
    Language Proficiency Requirements
    • All applicants must submit one or more of the following documents:
      • TOPIK report with Level 3 or above
      • Korean Language Program Completion Certificate issued by Konkuk Language Institute with Level 3 or above

    ※ All international students at Konkuk University must acquire TOPIK Level 4 or above to graduate.

    • ※ The deadline to submit application materials is 5 p.m. on November 23, 2018. However, applicants may submit their TOPIK certificate by 5 p.m. on November 30, 2018. If applicants took the 60th TOPIK examination, they must submit their registration ticket.

  • Application Process
    Online Application

    All applicants must submit their online application through UWAY (www.uwayapply.com)
    between October 29, 2018, 9.30 a.m. – November 23, 2018, 5 p.m. Korea Standard Time (KST). The direct link for Konkuk University is http://ipsi3.uwayapply.com/foreign/konkuk/?CHA=1.

    • All required spaces must be filled out on the online application.
    • “Application Category (지원구분)” on the Application Form: Choose “Freshman (신입학),” “Transfer (편입학),” or “transfer2 (dual-degree program)” first, then select “College (대학)” and “ Unit (모집단위).”
    • Applicants cannot apply for a major related to their native language. For example, a Chinese student cannot apply for the Department of Chinese Language & Literature.
    • Applicants should upload their color photo taken at a studio for the online application.
    • Applicants must provide their valid and frequently-used email address. Important information and updates will be sent by email and it is the applicants’ responsibility to check their email accounts regularly.
    • Changes or cancellations cannot be made after the online application deadline.
    • For trouble shooting regarding the online application, please contact UWAY directly (☎+82-2-1588-8988).
    Application Fee
    • KRW 107,000
    • A refund may be given only before the online application deadline and with the authorization of the admissions officer (☎+82-2-2049-6202).
    Submission of Required Documents

    All applicants must submit the following documents between November 5, 2018, 9.30 a.m. – December 23, 2018, 5 p.m. Korea Standard Time (KST)

    • The documents must be submitted either in-person or via registered mail (e.g. DHL, UPS, EMS).
    • When using registered mail, applicants must check whether their documents arrived in an appropriate and timely manner.

    Second – Eighth Semesters
    1. Students who successfully obtained more than a certain number of credits and with good academic standing will be awarded scholarships ranging from 20% to 100% tuition waiver.
    2. Scholarships will not be awarded after the student’s eighth semester.
