Undergraduate International Students

Welcome to the undergraduate admissions section of Konkuk University’s website. Each year, foreign students from around the world come to the university to pursue their undergraduate degree. In 2017, a total of 380 students from 10 countries, including China, Japan, and Malaysia, enrolled at Konkuk to study business administration, media communication, film animation, and apparel design, among others. Here, prospective students can find all necessary information on applying to the university.

  • Application Requirements
    Nationality and Academic Requirements
    • Freshman Applicants
      All applicants must meet both of the following:
      • Applicants have graduated or are expected to graduate from accredited primary and secondary schools inside or outside of Korea. (12-year education)
        ※ If you studied less than 12 years of education, please consult whether you can apply or not
      • Applicants and their parents are foreign nationals without Korean citizenship since the day applicants were born.
    • Transfer Applicants
      In addition, transfer applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
      • Applicants have completed or are expected to complete at least 2 years of a 4-year undergraduate degree program with at least 50 percent of the credits required for graduation at an accredited Korean or foreign university with good academic standing
      • Applicants have graduated or are expected to graduate from a 2- or 3-year associate degree program at an accredited Korean or foreign college with good academic standing
    Language Proficiency Requirements
    • All applicants must submit one or more of the following documents:
      • TOPIK report of Level 3 or above
      • Korean Language Program Completion Certificate issued by Konkuk Language Institute of Level 3 or above
      • Report card of Korean Language Test Level 3 or above conducted and issued by Konkuk Language Institute

    ※ All students must acquire TOPIK Level 4 or above to graduate.

    [Note 1] The timeline above is subject to change and announcements will be made accordingly.
    [Note 2] If you have TOPIK report of Level 3 or above, Korean Language Program Completion Certificate issued by Konkuk Language Institute of Level 3 or above, or you’re a Current(2020 fall semester) student of Konkuk Language Institute, or an applicant of 72nd TOPIK examination, you cannot apply for Korean Language Test conducted by Konkuk Language Institute. (But, if 72nd TOPIK examination is delayed or canceled, and it’s impossible to submit your TOPIK report, you can apply for Korean Language Test conducted by Konkuk Language Institute.
    [Note 3] Details of Korean Language Test conducted by Konkuk Language Institute will be announced after Online application.
    [Note 4] The deadline to submit application documents is 5 p.m. on November 20, 2020. However, applicants may submit their TOPIK report by 5 p.m. on November 27, 2020. (If applicants took the 72nd TOPIK examination, they must submit their registration ticket.)
    [Note 5] To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Non-face-to-face consultation is proceeding now. So, please make inquiries by telephone (02-2049-6202, 6225) OR e-mail (uadmissions@konkuk.ac.kr).
    [Note 6] All required documents should also be sent by post only. Please post all documents in one and do not post them separately.
    [Note 7] All announcements during the application period will be made via e-mail only. For this reason, Applicants MUST put the correct e-mail address on their application. Also, applicants will be responsible for any problems caused by e-mail address errors.
  • Application Process
    Online Application

    All applicants must submit their online application through UWAY (www.uwayapply.com)

    [Notes]
    • All required spaces must be filled out on the online application.
    • “Application Category (지원구분)” on the Application Form: Choose “Freshman (신입학),” “Transfer (편입학),” or “transfer2 (dual-degree program)” first, then select “College (대학)” and “ Unit (모집단위).”
    • Applicants cannot apply for a major related to their native language. For example, a Chinese student cannot apply for the Department of Chinese Language & Literature.
    • Applicants should upload their color photo taken at a studio for the online application.
    • Applicants must provide their valid and frequently-used email address. Important information and updates will be sent by email and it is the applicants’ responsibility to check their email accounts regularly.
    • Changes or cancellations cannot be made after the online application deadline.
    • For trouble shooting regarding the online application, please contact UWAY directly (☎+82-2-1588-8988).
    Application Fee
    • KRW 107,000
    • A refund may be given only before the online application deadline and with the authorization of the admissions officer (☎+82-2-2049-6202).
    Submission of Required Documents

    All applicants must submit the following documents between November 2, 2020, 9.30 a.m. – November 20, 2020, 5 p.m. Korea Standard Time (KST)

    ※ Rules related to scholarships are subject to change.

    Second – Eighth Semesters
    1. Students who successfully obtained more than a certain number of credits and with good academic standing will be awarded scholarships ranging from 20% to 100% tuition waiver.
    2. Scholarships will not be awarded after the student’s eighth semester.
    3. The scholarship listed above can be changed.
