The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) at Konkuk University

The Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) provides selected international students an opportunity to pursue their studies at higher educational institutions (i.e., university) in Korea. The program aims to cultivate global leaders while facilitating the expansion of Korea-friendly networks all over the globe.

Konkuk University (KU) accepts admissions applications from both undergraduate and graduate-level students who have received this scholarship.

Features of the KGSP
  • Full scholarship offered (including tuition, living allowance, insurance coverage, air-ticket, etc.)
  • GKSP students with TOPIK Level 4 or higher and GPA 3.5 or higher will be provided with Konkuk’s special scholarship of 600,000 KRW every semester
  • Opportunity for Korean language training
  • Possible to take all courses of the degree-level pursued
    • For undergraduate students: Various courses offered by 15 undergraduate colleges at Konkuk University
    • For graduate students: Various courses offered by the Konkuk University Graduate School and Professional Graduate Schools
  • Experience of Korean culture

Qualifications
  1. The applicant and his/her parents must hold foreign citizenships
  2. Must have graduated or be expected to graduate from high school as of March 1 of the invitation year.
  3. Must possess above 80% (out of 100%) cumulative grade point average (CGPA), or must be within the top 20% (out of 100%) in rank in high school.

Selection Procedure
Undergraduate Program
1st Round of Selection Korean Embassies will recruit and select qualified candidates
* Applicants should apply for the program through their home country’s Korean Embassy
2nd Round of Selection NIIED selection committee will screen qualified candidates selected by the Korean Embassies
3rd Round of Selection Konkuk University (KU) will screen candidates for admission
