The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is an academic field of protecting and restoring environment as well as planning, designing, organizing and operating artificial environment, the economic and social engines of a society. We focus on the following areas by planning, designing, constructing and mamaging the foundation of modern society; water resources, air resources, transportation, drinking water, energy systems, ports and airports, roads and bridges, disasters and safety and environmental conservation and restoration. Generally, the graduates of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering start their career with one of these technical areas as their specialty. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering helps students to train technology that has been developed to improve the quality of life through the development of resources and environment with the beginning of history, and educates them to deal with the needs of highly developed industries and ICT-oriented issues in the 21st century, such as incresingly serious natural disasters, climate change, bio and nanotechnology needs.
