Prof. Myung-Whan Cho of the Division of Biological Sciences, College of Biological Science & Biotechnology, Konkuk University (KU), will be giving a panel presentation at the 2014 World Conference for Public Administration (WCPA) held at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center (EXCO), Korea, on June 25-27, 2014. The conference theme is "Public Administration and Happiness: Policy Management & Politics from the Global Perspective."
As Asia's top researcher of life science, Prof. Cho will be lecturing during Session 2 on the "Corporate Helix Model," which incorporates institutions of higher education, industries, and the government for creative economic growth through technological innovation. He will introduce the possibilities of the model which emphasizes the need of an entrepreneurial university and its participation in the development of the national economic system along with the industry and government.
Prof. Cho's model is attracting attention as a knowledge-based model of economic development for developing countries, as it presents the possibility of establishing entrepreneurial universities in the developing world. He had conducted research on economic development through technological innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
