Prof. Sangbo Shim and Sanggeun Park’s team Develops Taekwondo Uniform for the Tokyo Olympics

<p>Adjunct Professor Sangbo Shim and Sanggeun Park from Department of Apparel Design at College of Art & Design, Konkuk University, presents the new Taekwondo uniform, ‘TUSAH EVO Uniform’, with TUSAH, the original brand of Lucent Gate Inc. (CEO Hanbit Kang) for global Taekwondo goods company, for the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games.<span style="font-size: 11pt;"><br /><br /><img style="margin-left: auto; display: block; margin-right: auto;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11824725" width="537" height="212" /> <span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Adjunct Prof. Sangbo Shim <span>Adjunct Prof. Sanggeun Park</span></span><br /><br /></span>The uniform is fully equipped with the best functionality with the purpose of creating modern Taekwondo uniform while keeping the originality. The fabric of the new uniform was developed by Mine Industry, which offers the best functional fabric for domestic athleisure brands with explosive growth, and the functional structure suitable for intense game of Taekwondo was designed by Prof. Park who has created patterns of at home and abroad sports brands.</p> <p>The newly developed material is a double-sided fabric with 30 and 50 denier high-quality threads reducing skin friction and shows outstanding elasticity using 30% of polyurethane. Throughout high performance quick-drying function and heat-shield processing, it also helps to quickly sweat off during the game. Prof. Shim and TUSAH have developed the original Taekwondo uniform that shows the characteristics of Hanbok from 2016 Rio Olympic Games. The shape of it was also designed as a modern Taekwondo uniform reflecting traditional uniforms of Korean warriors.
