The "CO-Week Academy" will be held at Konkuk University's Seoul campus from the 3rd to the 7th.
The "CO-Week Academy" is an actual campus implementation of the excellent contents found in various innovative convergence universities in the high-tech fields, hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Research Foundation, and organized by 53 participating universities in the innovative convergence university project in high-tech fields.
If you are interested in cutting-edge technology, even if you are not a university student, you can still participate in various programs such as 70 courses run by the university association, special lectures on employment, and practical content training.
Konkuk University will dedicate the entire Seoul campus infrastructure, including classrooms and dormitories, for the hosting of this event. In particular, it will actively utilize high-tech classrooms as well as spaces prepared to educate future new technologies such as KU Smart Factory, Tech Workshop, and X-Space.
On the 3rd day, the ‘2023 College of Innovation and Convergence (COSS) Project Launching Ceremony’ was also held at Konkuk University’s New Millennium Hall in connection with the ‘CO-Week Academy’.
This project was designed to help universities break down boundaries between departments (majors) and universities and jointly develop and operate curricula to support the cultivation of talent in the high-tech field. Konkuk University has been selected as a university in the field of realistic media since 2021, and has been selected this year to participate in two additional fields of Aviation/Drone and Eco-up.
At the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Minister Na Joo-beom of the Ministry of Education said, "As various studies and technologies are rapidly integrating and developing in the high-tech field, university education must change to nurture talents who can respond to new technologies and environments." Through the innovative convergence university project in the high-tech field, we are ushering in changes to the field that can lead to the fostering of these new technologies. "Please do your best to create an innovative model for university education."
Konkuk University President Young Jae Jeon said, "This event is an open educational process that anyone can participate in, and the knowledge and information delivered by the best professors in the cutting-edge field contain all the latest technological trends," further adding, "I hope it will be a time to grow based on one's intellectual curiosity to become pioneers of the future."
