Konkuk University Foundation Conducted ‘Disability Awareness Education’ to Spread a Culture of Empathy for the Disabled

<p><img width="657" height="508" style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11842917" /><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span>Konkuk University Foundation (Chairperson Ja Eun Yoo) conducted ‘Disability Awareness Education’ on the 20<sup>th</sup> to celebrate the 42<sup>nd</sup> Day of People with Disability for personnel of the foundation and affiliated organizations.<br /><br /><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span>The purpose of the education is to reduce social prejudice and discrimination against the disabled as well as to create a positive disability awareness environment through creating a culture of empathy for disabled people.<br /><br /><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span>Singer Won Rae Kang gave a lecture, ‘Again, My Dream’, on the day of the education. He emphasized the importance of a culture of empathy for the disabled; understanding and respecting the diversity of the disabled.<br /><br /><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><span>Konkuk University Foundation, which introduced ESG management first as a university in Korea, established ‘Konkuk Partnership Company’ to expand employment for the disabled. The foundation and affiliated organizations are striving to create job opportunities for the disabled through various ESG management projects.<br /><br /><span style="font-family: 'KoPub돋움체 Medium';"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Chairperson Yoo, who participated in the education on the 20<sup>th</sup>, said, “We will make our efforts to make a world where the disabled and the non-disabled can share their dreams together inheriting the spirit of the founder who practiced social responsibility.”<span style="text-decoration: line-through;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><em><br /><img width="651" height="354" style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11842918" /></em></strong></span></span></span></span><span style="color: #000000; font-size: small;"><br /></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>
