KUKU Bees from the Department of Forestry and Landscape Architecture at Konkuk University created a honeybee garden ‘Bee Garden’ on campus to protect biodiversity on the 8th. The ‘Bee Garden’ is designed to attract honeybees mainly with honey plants that bees like. KUKU Bees went on a field trip to Seoul Forest Bee Garden with Jin Park, CEO of Urban Bees Seoul, and designed their own garden while planting boxwood trees, deutzias, lily turfs and etc.This activity was conducted as a part of Korea Forest Service and Korea Forestry Promotion Institute’s ‘Project to Foster Forest Convergence Talents’.Meanwhile, KUKU Bees and Urban Bees Seoul are working on an industry-academic joint project for urban bees. Starting from March 2022, they have been conducting various activities including online seminars and research for honey plants on-campus. In the near future, they plan to monitor the activities of urban bees in Seoul and inform their importance.
