Konkuk University Foundation (Chairperson Ja Eun Yoo) conducted ‘Disability Awareness Education’ on the 20th to celebrate the 42nd Day of People with Disability for personnel of the foundation and affiliated organizations.The purpose of the education is to reduce social prejudice and discrimination against the disabled as well as to create a positive disability awareness environment through creating a culture of empathy for disabled people.Singer Won Rae Kang gave a lecture, ‘Again, My Dream’, on the day of the education. He emphasized the importance of a culture of empathy for the disabled; understanding and respecting the diversity of the disabled.Konkuk University Foundation, which introduced ESG management first as a university in Korea, established ‘Konkuk Partnership Company’ to expand employment for the disabled. The foundation and affiliated organizations are striving to create job opportunities for the disabled through various ESG management projects.Chairperson Yoo, who participated in the education on the 20th, said, “We will make our efforts to make a world where the disabled and the non-disabled can share their dreams together inheriting the spirit of the founder who practiced social responsibility.”
