2019 New Year’s Greetings Ceremony, “Need to go beyond university education limits with Convergence and Integration” 
Konkuk University held its 2019 New Year's Greetings Ceremony at the Performance Hall of the New Millennium Building at 11 am on January 2 and promised drastic innovation, challenge, trust and cooperation that goes beyond the limits of university education under the banner of 'TEAM KONKUK'. <img width="665" height="443" style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11751624" /> 
The ceremony was attended by 1,000 people including Chairperson of Konkuk University Foundation Jaeun Yoo, cooperate directors, President Sanggi Min, professors, students, staff members, and members of the alumni association including alumni president Wonjae Meng, affiliated secondary school, Konkuk university hospital, Konkuk milk & ham, the classic 500, KU Golf Pavilion, and other executives and employees of profit businesses attended the New Year's wish for new leaps and innovations. <img width="667" height="311" style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11751632" /> 
<img width="312" height="315" style="margin-right: 11px; margin-left: 11px; float: right;" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11751625" />Chairperson Jaeeun Yoo introduced the accomplishments of the affiliated organizations that have been achieved during the past year and said, "Despite the difficult external environment, the whole institutions of the school corporations were able to achieve great results because of sacrifice and efforts of all the founding families, "In the past year, it was time to grow up and develop the spirit of SungHuh's noble spirit, and to prepare for the raised as prestigious university.  Chairperson Yoo also suggested that all the founding families should go along with the banner of "TEAM KONKUK" in order to attain the era of the 100th anniversary of the Konkuk foundation (2031). Chairperson Yoo said, "The term TEAM implies the common pursuit of goals, cooperation and communication, delegation and responsibility." TEAM is a common objectives with T of trust, E of efficiency, A of adaptability of environment and M of high morality. In 2019, based on trust and understanding among members, we will improve management efficiency to achieve organizational goals and reflect social change and market trends. I hope that it will be the first year of adaptation and the foundation of mutual respect and morality. " 
<img width="304" height="296" style="margin-right: 11px; margin-left: 11px; float: right;" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11751626" />Through the New Year's Greeting, President Sanggi Min introduced promotion of innovative educational reforms that have been achieved by Konkuk University over the last year, including restructuring the bureaucracy, reforming the educational environment, improving educational environment and education infrastructure, strengthening career, and said "This year Konkuk University will go beyond the limits of Korean university education with the aim of "convergence" and "integration" in the course of world history, which is changing with the changing times. "We will continue to innovate in order to create an educational environment suitable for cultivating talented people in the future based on the new framework of industry-academia cooperation achieved through the prime business", and said "we will also construct K-Cube centered on humanities, the second Smart Factory, AR·VR related education place and creative education practice place. Also, we will continue to build a bio cluster business that will cover life sciences, veterinary medicine, and science and technology institutes."  Also, "we should lead students to have the ability to create core technologies of the future society through creative learning in accordance with the changing times that are expected to change the "humanity itself" rather than changing the "work we do" and added that "the vision and attitude of university staff members, such as professors and staffs, must change in the future, and students can grow into convergent talents that move forward toward their goals." In order to strengthen the research capacity, we will expand funding for research funding to strengthen the research capacity of basic science and to fund scholarships for outstanding researchers and scholarship for outstanding graduate students in order to support subsequent generations of scholarship." 
"Diligent self-innovation is the fundamental driving force for the university development" said President Min. "We will boldly push forward the complacency and the conventions, revitalize the development of the university with the spirit of innovation and creativity, and with constant communication and infinite harmony, we will gather wisdom, build trust, and move forward vigorously to create synergy."
Following the New Year's Greeting, 4 Tenors, including Professor Hong-tae Kim of the Performing Arts Department of Art and Design Graduate School, were invited to perform few songs including "Song of Friendship".
