Academy of Mobility Humanities of Konkuk University(Chairman Professor In-seob Shin) invited Professor Weiqiang Lin of National University of Singapore on 25th to hold a special lecture on “Airspace Stories: Affective Infrastructuring in Asia”.
In the lecture, Professor Weiqiang Lin explained the creation of airspace as an infrastructure of aeromobility and pointed out that the concept of airspace is formed not only of matter but also of social factors. In particular, he classified the organization of airspace into aviation rooms, airline network, flight capacity, and airspace, and explain how airspace is formed into a controversial set through cultural norms, laws, and technology that define the global aviation industry.
Weiqiang Lin is a geography professor at the National University of Singapore and has been working extensively on mobility, logistics and infrastructure production. In recent years, he has started a project to track the infrastructure of air logistics infrastructure in Singapore and China. He is currently a member of the editorial board of "Mobilities" and "Transfers." His books include "Mobilities, Environment and Planning D, Journal of Transport Geography, Political Geography," and “Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers”.
