Central Asian university students, who were invited by the National Institute for International Education had an education at three universities in Korea during summer vacation which includes Konkuk University, Kyungwoon University, and Keimyung University. They held a presentation and a completion ceremony at Konkuk University on the 12th and 13th.Three universities, including Konkuk University, were selected as the host universities for the operation of outstanding universities in Asia, hosted by the National Institute for International Education. They conducted a program from July 11 to August 11, 5 weeks for students to take major courses, experiment and practice, experience business industry and research laboratory, and learn Korean culture and leadership. On 12th, Central Asia University Student Training Study Presentation was held at Konkuk University’s Art Center. 15 teams, 5 teams from each university shared their research results of their training. At the completion ceremony held at the Konkuk University’s Millennium Hall on the 13th, three teams, one from each university, presented their excellent research results and received an award. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Yong-beom Cho, Executive Vice President for Public Affairs of Konkuk University, Seung-Chul Park, Head of Global HR division of National Institute for International Education, Dong-eun Kim, the Vice President of Office of International Affairs of Konkuk University, Daejoong Son, Director of Center for International Faculty & Student Services of Konkuk University, Eun-Jin Lee, Director of Global Industry Education Center of Kyungwoon University. This training was held to secure resources for attracting international students and to induce students to study in Korean universities in Central Asia through short-term invitational courses to experience the development of academic and industrial fields such as Korea's humanities, social sciences and sciences. And 78 college students from five countries, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan participated in the program. Students experienced Korea while living in three university’s dormitories at Konkuk University (International Management), Kyungwoon University (Aerospace Machinery, IT, SW Convergence), and Keimyung University (Economy and Trade).During the week, major lectures and lab programs were held, and various opportunities were offered, including weekend visits to experience Korean culture and tours of Korea's leading companies. During the training period, Korean students and international students from Central Asian countries were able to get along together, Korean students supported students from Central Asia for their life in Korea, Korean culture and university life. Dong-eun Kim, the Vice President of Office of International Affairs at Konkuk University, said, “excellent university students from Central Asia who visited Korean universities and had training made become a great opportunity to attract not only students but also international students from Korea. I hope students from Central Asia who participated in this program to become a Korean ambassador and I hope to meet them again as a student in graduate school. ”
