Konkuk University Academy of Mobility Humanities (Director In Seob Shin) HK+ project team held an international conference with Center for Mobilities Research (CeMoRe) at Lancaster University, UK, under the theme of "Exploring Lives and Culture as a Mobility Humanity Lens". The Lancaster University Mobility Institute is the world's first mobility research institute founded in 2003 by John Urry and Mimi Sheller (Drexel University, USA), advocating "mobility paradigm". He is the pioneer and leader of mobility research, publishing the internationally renowned journals "Mobilities" and two series of articles "Changing Mobilities" and "Mobilities, Literature and Culture Studies". Monika Buscher, Director of the Mobility Institute, who was the Keynote Speaker, introduced the history and activities of the Institute that created and led the Mobility Paradigm and proposed various academic exchanges with the Mobility Humanities Researchers. Lynne Pearce, Director of the Humanities Department, explained the study of humanities and mobility that is being conducted at the institute and emphasized the necessity of researching mobility from a humanistic point of view.During the presentation session, each presentation was held under the theme of "Mobility, Multiculturalism + Affiliation" and "Mobility of People + Objectivity ". HK professor Joo youg Kim of Academy of Mobility Humanities presented about "Humanity education of high-Mobility period-about Konkuk University’s education examples of Academy of Mobility Humanities", HK professor Jin hyung Lee presented about “Colonial mobility, mobility technology and commonality”, HK research professor Soo chul Kim presented about “Seoul Women's Mobility: Urban Mobility Inventory through Women's Experience of Film Screening ", HK research professor Farrah Sheikh presented about "Korea's Muslims and Mobility ". Following the presentation of HK Professor Kim Tae-hee "Mobility in Mobility: DMZ as Heterotopia" and Yul Tai-yang HK Research Professor's "Mobility in Mobility" and during the Round Table they had time to exchange transnational humanities mobility research.Simon Guy, a professor at the University of Arts and Social Sciences at Lancaster University, hoped that the academic collaboration of the Mobility Institute and the Mobility Humanities Research Institute would greatly contribute to the international standing of the University of Lancaster. The two institutions will jointly organize various types of international academic events together with this joint academic conference.In-Seop Shin, Director of Academy of Mobility Humanities said, "The Mobility Humanities Research Institute will play a role in spreading organized mobility studies in the West to Asia and to send Asian mobility studies to the English-speaking countries. And we will contribute to creating a new trend in the current mobility research field."
