Konkuk University Academy of Mobility Humanities (Director In Seob Shin) HK+ project team signed an MOU with the Center for Geohumanities (Royal Holloway University of London) and held a symposium. The Center for GeoHumanities is a leading research institution in the field of mobility research with the Center for Mobilities Research at Lancaster University in the UK, pioneering mobility research. Geography Humanities aims at interdisciplinary research based on linkage between art, humanities and geography. The Center for GeoHumanities researches and explores how geographic issues such as space, place, landscape, and environment evolve in the arts and humanities. Academy of Mobility Humanities and the Center for GeoHumanities held a joint symposium as the first academic exchange event. Four professors including Harriet Hawkins, director of the Center for GeoHumanities, Professor Tae Hee Kim, Professor Jin-hyeong Lee, Professor Soo-cheol Kim, Research Professor Farrah Sheikh of Academy of Mobility Humanities HK project team had presentations. Especially, this symposium was actively discussed with the theme of "popularization of humanities". The Center for GeoHumanities introduced various models to collaborate with art museums and museums in order to popularize the results of mobility research and the HK + of Academy of Mobility Humanities discussed ways to stimulate citizen participation in the construction and operation of lectures. The two institutions have set up an institutional foundation to carry out mutual academic exchanges and cooperation at a high level with this academic event. In the case of academic research, they decided to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as planning and conducting joint academic research, hosting academic conferences, exchanging researchers, and publishing in the future by mutual sharing of agendas. On the other hand, in the field of education, we decided to jointly develop the social contribution model of research achievement while mutually sharing the mobility humanities curriculum and civic education program.In-Seob Shin, the director of the Academy of Mobility Humanities, said, "We will continue to communicate with leading global mobility research institutes. And we will work hard to disseminate and publicize the meaning and value of mobility enhancement to human life."
