Konkuk University (KU)’s commencement ceremony took place at the New Millennium Hall on August 22, 2019.2,022 graduate and undergraduate students from the main campus in Seoul and the GLOCAL campus in Chungju received their degrees. A total of 115 doctoral degrees, 734 master’s degrees, and 1,173 undergraduate degrees were conferred.
President Award was presented to 1 PhD student and 11 graduate students. Dean of Graduate Award was presented to 15 students and Academic Award was presented to 3 Phd students and 2 graduate students. On the congratulatory remarks, KU President Sanggi Min encouraged the enthusiasm and hard work of graduates who have earned a glorious degree after many years of efforts and said “I hope our graduates can dream and realize their dreams toward the global world beyond Korea. To be a pioneer in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is important to learn science and technology, but communication between people is also very important.” And President Min added that “No matter how fast the times change, don't be afraid to change with the spirit of hard work and never lose and don’t forget the spirit of courageous and challenging like the bull, the symbol of Konkuk University. I hope our graduates will live a life of continuous learning and experimenting as you learned at Konkuk University.”
Since its establishment in 1931, KU has produced approximately 229,569 graduates who have devoted themselves to the nation and human society by putting their sincerity, fidelity, and righteousness, KU’s education philosophy, into practice in our society.
