Professor Yang-mi Kim Receives the Park In-won Academy Award

<p style="text-align: center;"><img width="166" height="208" style="float: left;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11761214" /><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Professor Yang-mi Kim of the Systems Biotechnology Department of Konkuk Institute of Technology of Konkuk University won the Park In-won Academy Award at the 2019 Spring Conference of the Korean Chemical Society (Chairman Hyun-joon Han) held in Suwon Convention Center from 17th to 19th.<br /><br />The Park In-won Academy Award was given to researchers who contributed to the development of biochemistry with outstanding research results in the field of biochemistry, which was enacted in 2014 to honor the achievements of Professor In-won Park, who pioneered the field of domestic biochemistry.<br /><br /></span></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Professor Yang-mi Kim of Konkuk University was awarded the Park In-won Award for outstanding achievements in the field of three-dimensional structure of protein and dynamics research. Professor Kim has written over 180 research papers and about 30 patents on the development of therapeutic agents for infectious diseases against multidrug-resistant bacteria and the study of structure and dynamics of target proteins. Professor Kim also served as the head of the Biochemical Division of the Korean Chemical Society from 2015 to 2016, and currently serves as President of the Korean Society of Peptide Protein.</span></p>
