Konkuk University presented an Achievement Award to students of Design Marketing team of the 51st University Students’ Association ‘Cheongshim’ which contributed to enhancing the self-esteem of students and school members and university brand value by developing and spreading the school mascot character ‘KU’.
The students who received the Achievement Award were five students, including Hong-seok Ahn(Department of Advanced Industry Fusion), Hyun-jin Park(Department of Technology Fusion Engineering), Hyun-jin Hwang(Department of Advanced Industry Fusion), Ye-rin Im(Department of Chemical Engineering), and Sung-yeon Joo(Department of Microbial Engineering).Design Marketing team ‘Cheongshim’ organized and conducted the Konkuk University Mascot Character Contest last March to lay the foundation for the birth of new character, ‘KU’. Afterwards, the 'KU' was refined into more friendly characters, and the design perfection was used to provide students with useful information through various card news. Also, various ‘KU’ goods such as dolls, pens, and notebooks have been produced and distributed to Konkuk University students to encourage their school spirit.
Particularly at the Konkuk University fall festival, a large 'KU' balloon was floated on Ilgam lake, which not only led the students' response, but also greatly contributed to raise the awareness and brand value of the school through various Instagram events. At the awards ceremony, Seung-yong Park, Vice President for Public Affairs, said, “I am happy that students can enjoy their campus life while being proud of school through 'KU' character. We will support out mascot ‘KU’ to become a symbolic character which represents Konkuk University.
