Konkuk University’s Office of Career Development and Placement held ‘Fall 2020 Career Guidance Workshop by Professor’ on the 17th in Room 201 of Law School Building to share best cases of career guidance in each department and introduce effective career guidance based on the results of the course’s operation.
Due to COVID-19, the workshop was held with no audience. The edited video of the workshop will be released on October 5th to help more faculty members participate in and enhance convenience.
The workshop introduced the key competency indicators of students who have steadily improved over the last three years, and made presentations on the relationship between key competency of freshmen and educational performance indicators, and the relationship between key competency and GPA as well as academic warning. The key competency of Konkuk University is self-developed diagnostic tool in Center for Quality Management to enchance the students’ competencies, and includes the following; global citizenship, sincerity, initiative, communication skill, comprehensive thinking skill, and creativity.
The presentation then introduced the best cases of career guidance from Department of Educational Technology, Department of Cosmetics Engineering, and Department of Apparel Design.
Office of Career Development and Placement plans to share tips on career guidance through real-time video conference in the era of COVID-19 and suggestions by faculty members of various department on the 20th.
“The course 'CSP Career Exploration', which was opened in 2018 for freshmen students,, has become one of the representative courses of university career guidance as well as benchmarks of other universities.”, said Hyungsuk Kim, the head of Office of Career Development and Placement. “Although we all suffer from difficulty from COVID-19, we expect you to actively participate in career guidance through this workshop.”, he added.
