Konkuk University Signs MOU with Siemens for Smart Mobility Talent Cultivation

<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Konkuk University announced on the 19th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) with Siemens Industry Software to cultivate professionals in the smart mobility industry and to foster talent with convergence engineering skills.<span style="font-size: 11pt;"><br /><br /><img width="646" height="228" style="margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; display: block;" alt="" src="ArticleFile.do?id=11798852" /><br /></span></span><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">President of Konkuk University, Young Jae Jeon, Executive Vice President for Public Affairs, Il Min Chung, Dean of College of Engineering, Jeong Hoo Choi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Soo Hyung Park, Professor Ki Choon Cho from Department of Smart Vehicle Engineering, CEO of Siemens Industry Software, Byung Joon Oh, Division Director, Bong Am Kim and Head Director Soo Ah Lee have attended the opening ceremony held at the Administration Building.</span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /><br /></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Konkuk University and Siemens will jointly develop the software education curriculum and textbooks under the cooperative relationship, and will open Siemens Digital Industry Software Solutions courses and lectures including three-dimensional design and processing, computerized application analysis, optimal design, and automous driving, starting from 2020. In 2021, they are planning to open major courses based on Seimens Digital Industry Software Solutions.</span><br /><br /></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Siemens Digital Industry Software will actively provide solutions for the operation of online software solutions curriculum conducted by Konkuk University and issue software education certification to trainees who have completed the curriculum.</span><br /><br /></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Mr. Byung Joon Oh, CEO of Siemens Industry Software, said, “We are happy to help foster talents for smart manufacturing of next generation in cooperation with Konkuk University,” and “Smart mobility including self-driving cars, PAV(Personal Air Vehicle) and robotics is shifting the paradigm of mobility industry in the era of Fourth Industrial Revolution.”</span><br /><br /></p> <p><span style="font-size: 10pt;"><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Professor Jeong Hoo Choi, Dean of College of Engineering, stated, “We will continue to support the students, cooperate with them and help them grow as key talents leading the smart manufacturing industry in Korea by developing professional experience and capability of digital manufacturing.”</span></span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></span></p>
