Konkuk University students proved the possibility of using multilayer graphynes as next-generation lithum ion battery materials. Multilayer graphynes are known to store three times more lithum than graphites. The research was conducted by undergraduate student Mr. Koo Jahyun, graduate student Mr. Hwang Ho-jun, Prof. Lee Hoon-kyung and Prof. Kwon Yong-kyung of the School of Physics of Konkuk. Their paper “Multilayer Graphynes for Lithium Ion Battery Anode” was published in the March 13 edition of Journal of Physical Chemistry.
