The Seoul and Glocal Campuses of Konkuk University (KU) have been accredited by the International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) according to the evaluation results that were recently announced by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea. The IEQAS aims to procure global credibility and competitiveness of institutes of higher education in Korea. The criteria for evaluation included the following: international student dropout rate, rate of provision of school dormitory for new international students, diversity, and the number and proportion of full-time international faculty.
KU was selected as one of the 49 domestic universities certified by the IEQAS, recognized for its strategic selection of outstanding international students and the provision of continued support until graduation. KU requires international students to obtain a TOPIK (Test of Proficiency of Korean) Level 3 or higher prior to admission, which guarantees students' high level of Korean proficiency. Moreover, the student dropout rate is low due to its superb administrative services.
As KU has been certified, the University will be introduced to prospective international students as an institution of outstanding management of superb foreign students at the "Study in Korea" website (www.studyinkorea.go.kr) run by the Korean Foreign Ministry and diplomatic missions overseas. KU will also be given priority when attending study abroad fairs, global job expositions, and other events hosted by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) of Korea.
