As Konkuk University (KU) has been selected as a Startup-Leading University in 2014, it plans to activate 20 student startup clubs, fostering 1,000 prospective startup founders and 10 startup stars by 2017. The KU Startup Support Group plans to maximize the capacity for guiding startups, focusing on the IT, biotechnology, and cultural contents areas through the following activities and initiatives that are specialized in startups: phased startup support, enhancement of startup success rate, leading of the regional atmosphere for startup development, discovering model student startup clubs, and maximizing the capacity for pioneering startups through the regional startup base.
Through these endeavors, 20 student startup clubs, in which KU students, students of other universities, and citizens can participate, and 1,000 future startup founders are to be cultivated. KU will also be offering a graduate program in Enterpreneurship of Industry Fusion in 2014.
The KU Startup Support Group will be carrying out various programs necessary for the formation of a favorable startup atmosphere, such as core lectures on startups, invitational lectures, startup festival, and others.
