The International Programs Team of the Office of International Affairs, Konkuk University (KU), attended the 9th University Administrators Workshop (UAW) held from Jan. 22 to 24, 2014, at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Hong Kong, to discuss exchange and cooperation with universities in the Asia-Pacific region. About 100 university administrators in charge of international affairs and academic administration from 31 Asia-Pacific universities convened at the UAW.
The UAW is an international association founded in 2006, composed of top-ranking Asia-Pacific universities including Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong), the National University of Singapore (Singapore), Seoul National University (Korea), Tokyo University (Japan), and Tsinghua University (China). KU has been an active member of the UAW since 2013.
Under the this year's theme of "Promoting the Integration of Local and International Students to Create a Vibrant and Stimulating Learning Environment," KU's International Programs Team participated in the Workshop by presenting on the "Student Housing and Campus Residential life at Konkuk University" and taking part in the panel discussion.
Following the Workshop, the International Programs Team visited the Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, and HELP University on Jan. 23-26, 2014, to discuss international exchange and cooperation measures and mutual exchange of students, faculty, and joint research. KU plans to further expand its cooperative relationship with other Malaysian universities based upon the substantial exchange with these institutions.
