Konkuk University Co-hosts APAIE Conference & Exhibition 2014 with 13 Other Universities
Konkuk University (KU) jointly hosted the APAIE (Asia-Pacific Association for International Education) Conference & Exhibition 2014 with 13 other Korean universities at the aT Center (Seoul, Korea), from Mar. 17 to 20, 2014.
With the theme "Enhancing Cross-Border Education Cooperation with Universities in Asia-Pacific: From Past to Present and the Future," the conference was attended by 1,500 education professionals from 200 universities in 60 different countries, who took part in seminars, exchange, and events.
APAIE was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organization aiming to strengthen international education and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. Its regular conference has been held annually since 2006. In 2013, the conference was held by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in Hong Kong, and in 2015, it is expected to be held in Beijing, China, from Mar. 23 to 26.
International Exchange Experts Visit Konkuk University
On Mar.17, 2014, 31 international exchange personnel from 19 different universities including the KOC University (Turkey), Rikkyo University (Japan), National University of Singapore (Singapore), University of Jaen (Spain), and Thammasat University (Thailand) visited Konkuk University (KU) to discuss cooperation measures and for a campus tour. The guests were participants of the APAIE conference held from Mar. 17 to 20, 2014, in Seoul, Korea.
After a presentation on KU and the University's international exchange and cooperation affairs given by the International Programs team (Office of International Affairs, KU), a Q&A session followed to respond to the questions regarding KU and its diverse study abroad programs. Then, there was a tour of the campus, which included visiting major sites such as the KU:L House (dormitory) and KU Medical Center.
The Office of International Affairs at KU expects that the University will further expand its international programs with Asia-Pacific universities through this campus visit and exchange.
