Konkuk University's (KU) BK21 PLUS Multilingualism-Multiculturalism Project Team (Dept. of English Language & Literature, College of Liberal Arts) headed by Prof. Hee-Don Ahn held an international workshop titled "Multiculturalism and Asians" at the KU Liberal Arts Building from Feb. 22 to 24, 2014.

Prof. Mary Yu Danico of California State Polytechnic University (US), an expert in multiracial issues and multiculturalism, was invited to discuss Asian American issues, immigration and reverse migration, and diaspora matters at the workshop.
On Feb. 24, the first day of the workshop, the participants exchanged ideas on "K-pop Splash on Virtual Shores: Social Media's Impact on Transnational Hallyu Fans," while on Feb. 25, a discussion titled "Real Talk: Surviving the Academic Culture" was held.
The BK21 PLUS Multilingualism-Multiculturalism Project Team of the KU Dept. of English Language & Literature is one of the core BK21 projects that receive funding from the National Research Foundation of Korea until 2020. In particular, the project team aims to produce and disseminate research related with multilingualism and multiculturalism; at the same time, it pursues the fostering of top experts in the field.
