Konkuk University HK+ Academy of Mobility Humanities (Director, Inseop Shin) holds online international conference on ‘Eurasian Mobility and Intercultural Exchanges’.The conference jointly hosted by KU Academy of Mobility Humanities, Romania’s Alexandru Ioan Cuza University ROK Center for Korean Studies and Center for European Studies is conducted real time online using ZOOM due to COVID-19.Starting with opening speech and congratulatory message by Dean of Department of Law and Literature at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Director of KU Academy of Mobility Humanities, and the Head of Center for European Studies, the conference consists of keynote speeches by six renowned overseas scholars and three presentation sessions. About 30 domestic and foreign researchers from six countries including South Korea, United Kingdom, Romania and Poland are participated in the two-day conferece.Throughout the presentation sessions, the topics of ‘Mobility Genres’, ‘Communication and Cultural Difficulty’, and ‘Mobility and Policy Issue’ will be discussed. Professor Juyoung Kim at Academy of Mobility Humanities will present ‘Ideas of Korean for immobility caused by COVID-19’, Professor Jinhyung Lee with ‘Reorganizing modern novels from the Western World to colonial Joseon’, Professor Soochul Kim with ‘Moving Korean Webtoons: Infrastructure dynamics and its social and cultural implications’, and Professor Gijae Seo with ‘The policy and the public’s participation on Hansen’s disease through Japanese Colonial Era media’.Director, Inseop Shin, at Konkuk University Academy of Mobility Humanities said, “We will review the cultural implications of the mobility between Europe and Asia from the past to the present,” and “We hope that the conference will be an opportunity to promote the agenda ‘Mobility Humanities’ to Eastern European academia and strengthen the relationship among the three institutions.”
