The Center for International Faculty and Student Services at Konkuk University (KU) sent 43 selected KU students to Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), China, for six weeks as part of the KU-Asian Leaders Program (KU-ALP).
From June 30 to Aug. 8, 2014, students are to study in four different classes based on Chinese proficiency, studying Chinese language and culture for more than 100 hours through the tailored curricula provided by SUFE.
Dr. Eui Chul Chung, Vice President for International Affairs (KU) said, "Considering China's significant position in the international society as well as its status as the largest trading partner of South Korea, understanding Chinese language and culture has become a basic grounding for Korean university students. We are operating this program with an aim to foster talent who will become leaders of the Asian region through this opportunity to experience China."
