Konkuk University (KU) Museum completed the restoration of Dojeonggung House and Gyeonngwondang Hall, Korea's cultural heritage on KU main campus (Seoul), with support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The completion ceremony was held on Oct. 22, 2014, attended by KU President Heeyoung Song and representatives from the Gwangjin District Office. Dojeonggung House is a royal residence of the Joseon Dynasty which is officially registered as Seoul's cultural asset.
KU Museum will open Gyeongwondang Hall to the public every Wednesdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., a cultural class on Hanok, Korean-style house, is to be offered to inform visitors of the historical value of Gyeongwondang Hall.
Gyeongwondang Hall is appraised as an important cultural property reflecting the advancement of Hanok in the late Joseon period
