Scholarship Benefits for Student Start-up Owners

<p>The Konkuk University (KU) Start-up Support Group announced the launch of "KU Start-up Scholarship" on October 16, 2014, to provide funding to current Konkuk students who have founded their own businesses or those engaged in start-up activities. Students who meet certain criteria are eligible to apply for the scholarship worth 1,000,000 KRW (or approximately 900 USD). A total of 20 students will be selected in Fall 2014 as the first recipients of the scholarship.</p> <p>As Konkuk expands support for students pursuing start-ups, which includes the offering of relevant courses and partial tuition exemption, it is expected that an increasing number of students will become more interested in start-ups and related activities.</p> <p>The KU Start-up Support Group was officially launched on April 29, 2014, following KU's selection as a "Startup-Leading University" by the Korean government in early 2014. It is providing eight regular courses on startups as well as internship opportunities at venture enterprises located within the campus.
