Konkuk University (KU) announced on Feb. 2, 2015, that Konkuk University Institute for International Development Cooperation (KUIIDC) will be carrying out official development assistance (ODA) projects for Palestine and Ethiopia, as part the institute’s international cooperation development efforts.
During Jan. 16-25, five researchers from Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) visited KU to discuss the bioresearch center establishment project, one of KOICA’s ODA projects conducted by KUIIDC. Specifically, this visit, supported by the World Bank’s Quality Improvement Fund, aimed at strengthening Palestine’s biotechnology research capacity as well as developing a university-industry partnership model.
On Jan. 31, 2015, a delegation of eight representatives from the Ethiopian agricultural sector visited KUIIDC to discuss assistance measures for Ethiopia’s agricultural development. “We will be supporting Ethiopia’s innovations in food development and agricultural product distribution,” said KU President Heeyoung Song, “and continue to expand our various cooperative efforts to contribute to the agricultural development and food security of developing countries.”
