The BK21 PLUS Multilingualism-Multiculturalism Project Team (Dept. of English Language & Literature, College of Liberal Arts) at Konkuk University (KU) held a multicultural workshop on Jan. 19, 2015, with guest lecturer Dr. John Berra. Dr. Berra is a notable scholar in Asian film and urban culture who is a faculty member at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

The workshop was composed of Dr. Berra's special lectures on "Hollywood East: The Intercultural Communication of Sino-American Co-Production" and "Moving On: Diaspora Communities through the Independent Lens." Lecturer in film and language studies at Tsinghua University, Dr. Berra has jointly worked on World Film Locations: Beijing (Intellect, 2012) and World Film Locations: Shanghai (2014), and published various academic articles.
The BK21 PLUS Multilingualism-Multiculturalism Project Team of KU Dept. of English Language & Literature is a recipient of BK21 PLUS funding from the National Research Foundation of Korea during 2013-2020, a total of seven years, for the project of fostering creative, interdisciplinary professionals. The team also aims to produce and disseminate multilingualism and multiculturalism research.
