The International Programs Team of Konkuk University (KU) Office of International Affairs will be conducting a series of English conversation classes called "English For You (E4U)" for non-English speaking Konkuk students and alumni. From April 1 to June 5, 2015, a total of 10 sessions will be held every week, with the exception of the mid-term and final exam periods.
E4U has been designed to assist Konkuk students' participation in study abroad programs and alumni's preparation for job interviews and other needs related with English speaking. E4U may also be valuable to students and alumni preparing for English examinations. Two tutors, Ms. Lisa Jackson and Ms. Sita Makris, who are both visiting students from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will be conducting the classes. Ms. Jackson and Ms. Makris are interns at the International Programs Team.
According to the survey administered from March 13 to 26, 2015, in which 412 students and alumni participated, respondents expressed a strong interest in attending the E4U classes. More than 64% of the respondents were undergraduate students in their third and fourth years. A great majority, 92.3%, answered that they want to learn daily English conversation, while "expressing your opinion" and "responding to questions" were chosen as the areas which they need the most help with.
Signing up for sessions is free, and one student can sign up for one session each week. The link for signing up will be posted regularly on the Facebook page of the Office of International Affairs (http://www.facebook.com/kuabroad). All non-English speaking Konkuk students and alumni, Korean and international, are welcome to register.
