Educational and research innovations have placed Konkuk University (KU) within the top 10 Korean universities in recent university assessment results and several indicators. Konkuk has been pursuing fundamental and qualitative innovation in its three core functions: education, research, and volunteer spirit. As a result, the University's brand value has been enhanced in recent years, as reflected in several assessment criteria and indicators.
According to the overall assessment section of the 2014 JoongAng Daily University Rankings, a major nationwide university assessment conducted annually, Konkuk was ranked no. 13 among all domestic universities. This is a rise of three places from no.16 of the previous year. Among private universities, Konkuk was no. 10.
Konkuk was also placed within the top 10 universities in the nation for the number of students and alumni who passed the 2014 National Judicial Examination and Public Administration Examination. For the 49th Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination, Konkuk ranked no. 10 among private universities and no. 12 nationwide.
Furthermore, Konkuk was selected as one of the 2014 top 10 business schools in Korea announced by The Korea Economic Daily (also known as "Hankyung"), rising from no. 17 in 2013. The daily newspaper identified the main success factors behind this growth as KU's focus on management of technology, recruitment of internationally and domestically renowned professors, and adoption of globalized standards.
Konkuk has gained widespread recognition as "one of the most rapidly growing universities in the nation" equipped with "a strong financial foundation," firmly establishing itself as the university most favored by Korean high school graduates. In a recent survey conducted by Daehac.com, an internet-based newspaper that delivers higher education news, KU was rated no. 1 among domestic universities to which high school students intend to apply. In addition, in the assessment criteria of other surveys, Konkuk ranked within the top 10 universities which provide high quality character education, to which people intend to donate, and which significantly contribute to the community and the nation.
