Konkuk University (KU) announced on March 12, 2015, that a delegation from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) visited its Seoul Campus to discuss the expansion of exchange and cooperation. Led by FHWS President Robert Grebner, the delegation included Dr. Daniel Wimmer and Dr. Manfred Kiesel. Founded in 1971 and located in Bavaria, FHWS is a public university with a focus on applied sciences. There are 10 faculties and more than 30 undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered; currently, there are 8,800 enrolled students and 200 professors. KU has concluded an agreement with FHWS in June 2013 and the two institutions have been carrying out an exchange student program since 2013 fall semester. Thus far, a total of 11 students have studied at FHWS and seven have studied at Konkuk through this program.
