KU Hosts International Seminar on ‘Civilized Society Based on Life and Peace’

<p style="text-align: left;">Konkuk University (KU) College of Life and Environmental Sciences held an international seminar entitled "To Build a Civilized Society Based on Life and Peace," on Nov. 7, 2014, at the College of Life and Environmental Sciences, KU Seoul Campus.</p> <p>At this seminar, presentations covered on measures to realize a civilized society based on life, life and agriculture in Siberia, and university-industry project for Thailand's agricultural development. Participants included KU Vice President Yang Seob Lee, Dean of KU College of Life and Environmental Sciences Se Won Park, and distinguished guests from Russia and Thailand.</p> <p>"It is deemed difficult to solve the issues of global warming, food, energy, gap between the rich and the poor, education, and others through the current focus on science and technology," said Dean Se Won Park. "For a sustainable global village, we need to prepare prompt alternatives beyond the boundaries of nations and fields, and deliberate on the construction of a new civilized society based on life and peace.
