Konkuk University (KU) hosted the 6th Korean Language and Talent Competition for Chinese students at the Korean Cultural Center in Beijing, China, on May 21 and 22, 2015. About 100 Chinese students studying at local middle schools, high schools, professional colleges, and universities were present at the event.
The contest was composed of a Korean speech competition, K-pop singing contest, and Korean plays, in which nine, 26, and 54 students took part, respectively.
Selected students were awarded prizes and given the opportunity to study at Konkuk Language Institute (KLI) or exchange students with tuition exemption. These students can also earn extra points when applying to Konkuk's degree programs.
KU has been holding this contest for six consecutive years in China, with the aim to encourage Chinese students studying Korean as well as to provide information on studying at KU as international students.
