Konkuk University (KU) Office of International Affairs held an information session for outbound exchange student and short-term programs on May 20, 2015. To provide diverse opportunities for academic experience and foreign language acquisition to Konkuk students, KU is expanding its study abroad programs through which its students can study at prestigious universities abroad.
The information session included an overview of programs to which students can apply. A special feature of the session was the sharing of experiences by students who had participated in the study abroad programs in the past (e.g., short-term programs in Japan and China; exchange programs in Europe and the US; etc.). For students who attended the session, additional credits will be given if they apply and take part in the selection interview for study abroad programs for Spring 2016.
This year, KU expects to send 1,000 Konkuk students abroad through the dual degree program, exchange student program, international internship, and short-term study abroad programs. Konkuk sent 578 and 657 students in 2011 and 2012, respectively. The number of students studying abroad continued to increase in 2013 to 687 as well as in 2014 to 722.
