On June 5, 2015, the International Programs Team of Konkuk University (KU) Office of International Affairs held a photoshoot event for "KU Jacket Models" consisting of Korean and international students studying at Konkuk. This event was planned by Ms. Elisabeth Jackson and Ms. Sita Makris, International Programs Team interns and visiting students from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (US), under the supervision of Ms. Eun Jin Cho, KU English Editor.
The photos from this event will be showcased on the "KU Jacket" page to be newly created on KU English website. The recruitment of jacket models were advertised through poster ads on Facebook (www.facebook.com/KUAbroad) and several major notice boards on campus, and applications were accepted from May 15 to 26, 2015. Five international and three Korean models were selected, and photoshoots took place at the International House, in front of the administration building, and at the steps of Sanghuh Memorial Library.
Ms. Jackson, who conducted a part of the photoshoot as well as modeled, said, "Most international students have not been aware of how to order KU jackets; now since we will feature the jackets on our website, it will certainly be helpful for them."
Mr. Woojin Hwang ('10, Economics) commented, "I am happy to have this opportunity to promote our university by taking photos with international students. This will really become a memorable experience."
The day of the photoshoot event was also the last day of internship for Ms. Jackson and Ms. Makris. The two interns have conducted a total of 10 English speaking classes a week between April and June and carried out a Facebook project named "I Hear Your Seoul," a series of weekly posting on events taking place in Seoul and on campus, as part of their internship for 2015 spring semester
