The group "X[deca]," composed of Konkuk University (KU) students majoring in electrical engineering, supervised by Prof. Sunyong Kim, has been selected as the fourth cohort of groups for Samsung SW Friendship by Samsung Electronics. Samsung SW Friendship is a program which supports various research endeavors and provides an environment for software development to selected groups of students clubs, groups, and academic societies equipped with creativity and passion for research. For this selection, around 25 groups were chosen among the nearly 100 clubs which applied.
Through the Samsung SW Friendship, "X[deca]" will be receiving technical mentoring, have opportunities to participate in seminars, as well as be supported with tools, books, and assistance for club activities.
Founded in October 2001, "X[deca]" started out by researching short-range wireless robot; now it has developed into a group studying various areas within the electrical engineering field. The group has been actively holding seminars and carrying out projects, in addition to receiving prizes at intra- and extramural contests and activities.
In April of this year, "X[deca]" was selected as the NAVER D2 CAMPUS PARTNER by Naver, Korea's largest web portal, and has been supported since then.
