The Konkuk University (KU) Sincerity (성, 誠), Fidelity (신, 信), and Righteousness (의, 義) Overseas Volunteer Group came back to Korea after carrying out volunteer activities during summer break at Siem Reap, Cambodia, from June 24 to July 6, 2015.
The 18th cohort composed of 20 current Konkuk students visited Siem Reap, about 300km from the capital Phnom Penh, to join Habitat for Humanity Korea in building 18 restrooms for local residents in need. Volunteers also carried out educational activities for children and cultural exchange for community members.
Since 2003, the KU Overseas Volunteer Group has been serving communities abroad through house building activities along with Habitat for Humanity Korea, constructing necessary facilities with local residents as well as providing educational and cultural activities for local children and community members. Thus far, the group has visited and built homes in developing countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Mongolia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Cambodia.
