The Konkuk University (KU) College of Veterinary Medicine announced on July 1, 2015, that a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was concluded with the University of Tokyo (UTokyo) Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences for mutual exchange of faculty and students as well as joint research and academic exchange.
Based on this agreement, the two institutions plan to carry out academic exchange among their faculty members every year, which will be followed by the mutual exchange of students.
Since four years ago, the Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences at the UTokyo has been developing a program named Vet 4 U, an educational program developed with its three other neighboring universities. UTokyo has been sharing the contents and conducting commissioned training for each university's specialized education. UTokyo has also developed a veterinary education model curriculum and started its implementation in 2014.
The UTokyo Department of Veterinary Medical Sciences has presented on these diverse programs at the seminar jointly held with the KU College of Veterinary Medicine. KU plans to implement the cutting-edge educational system and programs.
In late 2015, the KU and UTokyo are expected to hold another joint seminar commemorating the conclusion of an MOU and to have kick-off discussions for substantial cooperation measures among East Asian universities.
