On July 13, 2015, the International Programs Team of Konkuk University (KU) Office of International Affairs held an orientation and welcome party for the 2015 International Summer Program (ISP) held during July 17-Aug. 7. This year, Konkuk has invited 38 students from 28 universities in 18 nations - including Australia, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Turkey, UK, and the US - around the globe. In contrast with other universities which cancelled summer programs due to the outbreak of Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), KU carried out its original plan, receiving a favorable response from the participants.
The 4-week program is consisted of a site visit to Jeonju and Daebudo, from July 14 to 16, for cultural experiences, as well as several historical tours and cultural activities provided during the weekends. Classes started on July 17, for which students can obtain transferrable credits. Six classes, all conducted in English, are offered by Konkuk and foreign faculty who teach in Korea. All students are staying at KU:L House, KU's on-campus dormitory, throughout the program.
