The Konkuk University (KU) College of Art & Design held an award ceremony for the winners of the 2015 KU Art & Design Competition on Aug. 10, 2015, at KU Administration Building. The competition, which was held every weekend in July this year, aimed to discover and cultivate talent who will lead the future of the art and design field.
Divided into two main sections, art (human anatomy drawing and watercolor) and design (basic design), the competition's President's Award given by KU President Heeyoung Song went to Ms. Ji-min Gwak (sophomore at Sunhwa Arts High School, Seoul) and Mr. Sang-geon Park (junior at Hwan-il High School, Seoul) for each section, respectively. Additionally, the awardees each received a certificate and scholarship award.
At the award ceremony held with the presence of the awardees and their families, President Song delivered his congratulatory remarks. "Konkuk University has been making great contributions to the advancement of Korea's art and design field by discovering many talented individuals through this art and design competition," he said. "We hope you would all grow to become the leaders of art and design of the future, all equipped with ideas and expressive capabilities."
A total of 1,648 among more than 11,300 participants were awarded prizes ranging from the Gold to Selected Prizes.
