On Sept. 17, 2015, Konkuk University (KU) held the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Graduate School of Mass Communication & Public Relations titled “Toward a New Horizon of Digital Innovation and Convergence,” at the Korea Press Center in Seoul.
The ceremony was composed of several congratulatory messages as well as a special lecture by KT SkyLife CEO Lee Nam-ki with the theme “The Crisis and Future of Korean Media.” Attendees from Konkuk included Chairperson Kyung-hee Kim, President Heeyoung Song, Dean Dong Gyu Kim of the Graduate School of Mass Communication & Public Relations, and former deans. Numerous alumni and students who are currently working in the fields of media and journalism were also present.
The KU Graduate School of Mass Communication & Public Relations was founded in 1995 and have produced approximately 400 graduates, with the aim of fostering experts in journalism and media, equipped with both a strong theoretical basis and field experience, and the enhancement of industry-academic cooperation. Currently, there are about 100 graduate students enrolled in three departments specializing in journalism and publishing, convergence of broadcasting and telecommunications, and advertising and public relations.
