The event was briefly held with reports of the current status and internal tours under compliance of COVID-19 quarantine guidelines.
KU Kreative Hub is a new learning space as a part of Commission for University Innovation Project’s educational environment improvement project. It is designed to contribute to fostering creative talent in a space where learning, discussion and online classes are available. To this effect, the place was named ‘KU Kreative Hub’ meaning the center of fostering creative talent by combining ‘K’ in Konkuk and ‘Creative’.
With the establishment of Kreative Hub, the number of advanced learning spaces in campus increased to eight including five existing K-Cubes (Sanghuh Memorial Library, Engineering Building, Life Science Building, Sanghuh Hall, Animal Science Building). The space was constructed with a size of 30, 90, 45 pyeong (170 pyeong in total) at Architecture Building, Business Administration Building and Engineering Building, respectively. Another characteristic of this place is that it is built on the first floor of each building, making it accessible for students, and that it is divided into learning space and internal conference room for creative learning and autonomous discussion. In addition, all the old facilities and office supplies in the space were removed and the latest devices such as touch screens are introduced. For the purpose of live broadcasting-recording system in the internal conference room was installed enabling for students to take real-time online and recording classes, and produce personal media. In case of College of Business Administration, the space is equipped with soundproofing devices in two conference rooms where it can be used as a mini studio.
KU Kreative Hub is expected to be used as a linked learning space for autonomous learning and online classes sent from KU All-Line Hub, which was established in the second year of the University Innovation Support Project.
The internal conference rooms will be available through the booking service in WE;IN system, and further details can be found on the website of Konkuk University Commission for University Innovation Project.
