Konkuk University Holdings Co. LTD. (CEO Chang Seon Song) signed a MOU for ‘Business Agreement for Cooperation System Establishment and Startup Activation’ with Korea University Holdings Co. LTD. (CEO Jae Soo Jang) on the 29th.Established in 2009, Korea University Holdings Co. LTD., as a GP (General Partner) and TIPS (Tech Incubator Program for Start-up) operator with a capital of 20.4 billion won and 49 subsidiaries (total investment of 20.4 billion won), is actively promoting startup support and investment as leading institution among 75 university technology holding companies nationwide.
Throughout the agreement, the two institutions decided to accelerate cooperation in various fields to develop the institutions, discover promising companies, promote investment and strengthen network by △sharing know-how for cooperation of holding companies and fund management △recommending and discovering promising startups and technology holding subsidiaries in universities △investing and connecting support projects △training for investment companies △mentoring and business networking cooperation △domestic and foreign investment as well as cooperation to promote exchanges among relevant institutions.
On July 20th, Konkuk University Holdings Co. LTD. decided to invest 100 million won in ‘The 2nd Personal Investment Association of Korea University Foundation’ fund as a LP (Limited Partner), which was formed with 5 billion won. The fund was selected as a Korea Fund of Funds financed enterprise and supported by Korea University Holdings, Konkuk University Holdings, Korea University Medical Center Holdings, Kwangwoon University Holdings, and etc, and its plan is to invest and foster intensively in ICT convergence and bio-healthcare for student startups, teacher startups and subsidiaries establishment.
CEO Song stated, “We will build the foundation for investment activation in school startups and subsidiaries and managing funds for of Konkuk University Holdings, and contribute to the growth of technology commercialization of Konkuk University.”
