Youngbin Choi from Department of Political Science at Konkuk University participated as a youth representative in the ‘2021 Global Youth Climate Challenges (GYCC)’, which is held as a part of a special session for future generation at the ‘2021 P4G Seoul Summit’ on May 29th.
The ‘2021 Global Youth Climate Challenges (GYCC)’, hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Council on Climate and Environment, started with a pre-event on May 22nd and main event on May 29th at KT Dream Hall in Gwanghwamun.
About 100 teenagers from 35 countries including UK, Colombia, Denmark, Russia and Kenya participated in the event online and offline. The participants, including Choi, have driven action plans and established networks with 83 global youth communities regarding climate change throughout the discussion on climate issues in each country and region.
The event included welcoming speeches from former U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Danish Crown Prince Frederick and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.
