New Sports Facilities to Open in March

<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Konkuk University (KU) announced that new sports facilities will be opened in March. “If the construction wraps up by the end of February and the new sports facilities become available for use in March, it will provide new opportunities for KU,” said Mr. Byeongwoo Lee of the Office of Facilities. “</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">In July 2015, a concrete stadium that has been in use since 1973 was removed to construct the new facilities. In order to encourage extracurricular activities among students, a soccer field, a basketball court, a futsal court, and two <em>jokgu</em> courts were built. A 100-m track was installed for students of the Department of Physical Education. There is also a 500-m track to be used by all students. In addition, a lawn will be opened for outdoor performances and gatherings.
