Konkuk University (KU) announced on March 22, 2016, that its College of Education received an A, the highest grade, in the “2015 Evaluation on Institutions for Educators.” Sixty-two universities with education programs across the country were evaluated in terms of academic environment, curriculum, performance, and specialization, using 13 criteria and 22 indicators. KU scored over 800, thus receiving an A, along with Seoul National University, Korea University, Ewha Womans University and 12 other universities. The Department of Early Childhood Education at the GLOCAL Campus obtained an A as well. KU currently has departments in mathematics, English, Japanese language, musical education as well as a department in educational technology. The Department of Teacher education helps students acquire their teaching certification. More than 50 faculty members train approximately 700 students to become future educators. In addition, through the affiliated middle and high schools, students have the opportunity to gain firsthand experience.
